KK Cheese, rebuilt around its orders.
A Malaysian snack retailer selling across several channels. We built the system that owns its orders end to end, and it is live. Everything below is running at kkcheese.my, so you can click through it rather than take our word.
The situation
Orders arrived through more than one channel and were consolidated by hand, every evening, by the person who also runs the business. That works until volume grows and the gaps between an order arriving and someone re-typing it start turning into mistakes.
What we built
One system that owns orders, inventory and fulfilment, with the sales channels feeding into it rather than each holding a partial picture. It is built on Medusa v2, an open-source commerce core, so the budget went to the parts specific to this business instead of rebuilding a cart from scratch.
The specifics are local, and local is where most builds cut corners:
- CHIP for Malaysian payment methods, wired through checkout end to end.
- EasyParcel for local courier handoff, so fulfilment is not a second manual step.
- MyInvois e-Invoice submission that fires as the order is raised, with nobody re-typing into a government portal.
- A promoter program: promoters get their own dashboard, share links and commission tracking, without ever seeing the customer list.
- A trilingual storefront, because the customers are not all reading in one language.
On the figures
The before and after numbers, minutes per order, hours per week returned, order errors, are being measured against the manual process rather than estimated after the fact. Estimating them afterwards would be guessing, and a guess printed as a number is just a lie with a decimal point. When they are measured, they go here, with any estimate labelled as an estimate.
